Two Czech chefs win a Michelin star for the first time

Prague, 15.3.2012

It was 2008 when the first Michelin star was awarded to a Prague restaurant: the Italian chef Andrea Accordi won it at Allegro restaurant * in the Four Seasons hotel and maintained it for 3 years in a row, before leaving Prague for St Petersburg in 2011.

The 2012 edition of Michelin Main Cities of Europe makes for the first time two Czech chefs the recipients of the much coveted Michelin star: chef Roman Paulus from Alcron and chef Oldřich Sahajdák from La Degustation Bohême Bourgeoise, deserve it all, for bringing the Prague dining scene to a high level of refinement and creativity.

The Michelin guide has also awarded  the Bib Gourmand to those Prague restaurants that offer "good food at moderate prices": SaSaZu, Le Terroir, Aromi and Divinis, and the two newly awarded Sansho and Monastery. Monastery is now renamed Lichfield and has a new concept and a new chef.

Prague is beautiful, magic and it tastes gorgeous!

*Allegro has now been rebranded COTTOCRUDO and it has a new concept and a new chef.
